Another eight new cases of COVID-19 are being reported in Hastings-Prince Edward today, with just one recovery.
The area’s active case number is at 37, with a seven day case rate 100,000 people, now at 17.8.
If that trend continues, it would move HPE into the Yellow Zone of Ontario’s COVID-19 response framework.
Five of the new cases reported Monday were found in Belleville, three of them were found in Quinte West, with five transmitted through close contact and three transmission causes pending.
The cases were found in six women and two men, with at least one case in each age group, from 30 years old up to 70 and over.
There were also eight new cases of the virus reported today in Northumberland County, with 16 active cases there.
Three cases have been resolved since the HKPR District Health Unit’s last report on Saturday.
