The Prince Edward Learning Centre may be getting a boost from council to continue assisting people struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
County staff are recommending that council approve a $62,000 grant to PELC in order to help it continue its tax clinic and other operations for another year.
According to the report submitted to council, PELC’s tax clinic helped 334 county residents with taxes in 2020.
PELC also offers pre-employment training, supported job placements and one-on-one financial coaching among other services.
Prince Edward County council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.
