A traffic stop in Trenton Saturday afternoon led to the arrest of one person and the seizure of methamphetamine.
Quinte West OPP stopped an SUV on Spring Street after observing suspicious driving behaviour.
A roadside screening test was administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for impaired operation.
Police also seized a quantity of suspected methamphetamine following a search of the vehicle.
Thirty-three-year-old Shayne Desormo of Quinte West is charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 8, 2021.
Additionally, his licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
