The OPP have confirmed they have arrested 26-year-old Charles Parkinson after an hours long search that began after Parkinson allegedly stabbed an OPP officer and fled from the scene early Sunday morning.
An OPP alert went out around 4:30 a.m. Sunday for people in Hastings County to shelter in place as there was an armed and dangerous man on the loose in the area.
It was later confirmed that 26-year-old Charles “Chuck” Parkinson was the suspect in an incident at approximately 1 a.m. which resulted in an OPP officer being sent to hospital for serious injuries after being stabbed.
During the incident the suspect’s vehicle collided with a police cruiser and the suspect fled on foot.
