A 48-year-old man from Quinte West will spend almost five and a half more years in jail after being sentenced after pleading guilty to sexual interference against his young daughter and her friend.
The sexual assaults took place between 2007 and 2015 and started when the girls were around seven years old.
The man’s name will not be released to protect the identities of the victims. The man pleaded guilty in October of last year.
Yesterday Justice Patrick Hurley sentenced the man to nine years in prison, less 1,253 days already served in custody.
He was also given a DNA databanking order, a lifetime sexual offender registry order, cannot attend at parks, playgrounds, school yards and other places young people frequent and cannot communicate via electronic means with young people.
The same man had previously been convicted of sexual assault on a male who was in his teens and has been continuously in custody since 2018.
