A Belleville woman has been sentenced on charges of stealing from several non-profit organizations in 2018.
A former supervisor at a Canada Post kiosk, Britney McGuigan, was convicted recently after 52 donation cheques to charitable organizations were stolen, valued at a total of almost $8,000.
Organizations involved included the Quinte Humane Society, War Amps, Ontario SPCA, Salvation Army, Belleville General Hospital Foundation, and Gleaners Food Bank.
McGuigan, 28 at the time the charges were laid in 2019, escaped jail time but was handed a two month conditional sentence and will be on probation for 12 months.
