Canada and Ontario are investing in 37 clean water, wastewater and storm water infrastructure improvement projects for First Nation communities across the province, including one for Alderville First Nation in Northumberland County.
The Government of Canada is investing more than $69.5 million in these projects while the provincial government will provide more than $16.9 million.
Each community will also make a contribution towards their respective project.
Alderville First Nation will receive $2.2 million from the federal government and $538,000 from the province to upgrade its communal and point-of-entry water treatment systems.
Alderville will contribute $196,092 to the project.
