Several retirement homes in Hastings County will benefit from an Ontario government investment to help cover COVID-19-related costs.
Hastings, Lennox and Addington MPP Daryl Kramp says retirement homes in Madoc, Tamworth, Napanee, Stirling, Marmora and Amherstview will share $223,780, part of a $30 million provincial government investment.
The money will help retirement homes with hiring, training and testing additional staff, sanitizing residences and purchasing supplies to prevent and contain the spread of infection.
In a press release Kramp noted, “It’s been a tough year but they’ve kept our loved ones safe and secure.”
This funding is in addition to the $30.9 million the province provided retirement homes earlier in the pandemic.
