Statistics Canada says the economy added 259,000 jobs in February.
The agency also says the unemployment rate fell to 8.2%, the lowest rate since March 2020.
Financial data firm Refinitiv says the average economist estimate is for a net gain in February of 75,000 jobs, and an unemployment rate of 9.2%.
Locally the unemployment rate is slightly higher, with Stats Can reporting that number at 13.1% in the Kingston region, which includes the Quinte area.
