Twenty-five years ago Nicholson Catholic College student Mark Fyke was killed while in Daytona Beach Florida.
Shortly after his death, the Quinte region also suffered the losses of Becky Middleton and Shawn Keegan.

Out of the tragedy suffered by the region, the Fyke family began a program that is now marking a quarter of a century. Violence Awareness and Random Acts of Kindness.
With COVID-19 still lurking, Fyke’s mother Chris MacDonald says they’ve had to change how some of the programs get delivered.
“On Wednesday, which is our Blue Ribbon of Hope Day, we had to change that up because of course we are not able to have our donation boxes with the blue ribbons out in the community, so we’re asking people to wear blue that day”
