A Napanee area woman has received the RBC Global Citizen Award.
Cynthia Surette is a Senior Commercial Account Manager with RBC.
The award recognizes those who go the extra distance to help their community prosper.
Surette, for whom volunteering has been a lifelong passion, has been a member of the Rotary Club of Napanee since 2011.
During that time she’s helped the Accessible Rotary Park and Rotary Youth Exchange come to life and worked with many students as part of Rotary Youth Leadership.
As part of this recognition, RBC has donated $5,000 to be given to a charity of her choice.
She has chosen to donate to the No Poverty 180° Fund of the Community Foundation for Lennox & Addington.
The Foundation’s Executive Director Bob Childs calls the donation a boost for the Fund which will soon be making annual charitable grants to local projects aimed at reducing and eliminating the impact of poverty.
