The Belleville Senators will be well rested but no doubt rusty when they play their first game in 11 days tonight.
The B-Sens begin a so-called five game “home stand” at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa with their first game ever against the Stockton Heat. Normally playing out of the Pacific Division, the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames was moved north for this season.
It will be Belleville’s first game at Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre after beginning the AHL season with four games in Laval. However they have not played since February 19. That will change in a hurry with five games in the next eight days.
Belleville is 1-3 to start the season.
