Like so many other events these days, the Quinte International Women’s Day celebration is going virtual.
This Thursday’s festivity is presented by the Small Business Centre and Trenval.
The centre’s Brianna Rossit says the event, usually held before a packed house at the Trent Port Marina, aims to motivate and celebrate women in entrepreneurship within the Quinte Region.
“So this year’s theme is Choose to Challenge. So a challenged world is an alert world. From challenge comes change.”
There will be four guest speakers; Sarah Hutchinson, co-owner of WeThrive, Antonia Zambri, senior retail manager at Donini Chocolate, Stephanie Pignolie from Furball’s Choice and Caroline Granger of Grange of Prince Edward Vineyards & Estate Winery.
Rossit says the virtual format has allowed them to take a different approach by offering breakout rooms.
“At the end of each four speakers, when they’re finished, we are going to separate the attendees with one of the speakers. And they get the chance to actually ask questions about the speakers and if they have anything they want to share or if there’s anything they noticed in their story that they want to learn more about this is their chance to ask questions.”
This virtual event runs from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 4.
Tickets are free and can be obtained through the Small Business Centre’s Facebook page or Eventbrite.
