Loyalist College officials say the school’s gym and dining hall are being converted into a COVID-19 vaccination centre starting next week.
Loyalist President Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan put out a statement on Tuesday advising students and staff that as of March 1, the clinic will be up and running, with long-term care staff and health care workers to be vaccinated first, over the next month.
Anyone who is eligible for a vaccine will be contacted by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health.
Dr. Vaughan calls it a wonderful moment for Loyalist and will allow the college to “shine while being actively engaged in efforts to protect our community” and says while this clinic will be small to start, they hope to be able to conduct larger clinics once the vaccination criteria expands.
