The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board has some more hardware for its trophy case.
The Economic Developers Association of Canada announced this week that the Marketing Board won two awards at its annual Marketing Canada Awards.
The local organization won the Advertising Campaign award for its Staycation Sweepstakes, an eight-week local marketing campaign during July and August 2020 in which residents of Belleville, Brighton, Quinte West and Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte could enter a weekly draw to win a $500 staycation.
The initiative supported over 30 local business and resulted in more than $50,000 in local spending.
The Board’s other award came in the video category for the documentary “A Place to Call Home.”
The film, created through a partnership between the Marketing Board, City of Belleville and City of Quinte West and produced by local filmmakers Tess Girard and Ryan Noth of Fifth Town Films, tells the story of new Canadians attending Loyola School of Adult and Continuing Education as they make their new life in Canada and specifically the Quinte region.
This is the second award in a month for the documentary.
