The COVID-19 outbreak at the Cobourg Police Station has been declared over.
The outbreak was declared on February 6 after three Cobourg Police Service staff members tested positive for the virus.
One other staff member then tested positive as well.
On Thursday (Feb. 18), the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit declared the outbreak over with no further COVID-19 transmission identified among staff.
The affected members have returned to their respective duties.
In a press release Chief Paul VandeGraaf said, “We are thankful for the recovery of our members and their safe and healthy return to work. The end of the outbreak is a result of robust pandemic protocols and cooperation, and swift actions of all staff. Thank you to the Health Unit for their guidance and the work of the team at NHH and the NHH COVID Testing Centre who work to keep the community healthy.”
As a precaution, the station remains closed to the public until further notice
