An added $1 million is being made available for local entrepreneurs who need help battling through the pandemic.
Community Futures Prince Edward Lennox and Addington says the Government of Canada has added that money as part of the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund this week, with eligible businesses or not-for-profit able to get between $40,000 and $60,000 in support.
The money is being handed out through FedDev Ontario and is open to rural businesses or non-profits who either didn’t qualify for other COVID-19-related supports, or just need more help.
The cash is available for new applicants, but those who have already received some funding are eligible for $20,000 top-ups as well, with half of that money in the form of a grant and the rest coming as an interest free loan.
