A young Belleville man was unsuccessful in trying to get away from police officers early Saturday morning.
At around midnight, Belleville police tried to stop a vehicle in the east end suspected of being driven by an impaired driver.
Instead of stopping, the vehicle sped away only to end up hitting a vehicle and a house. With the suspect vehicle wedged in between the parked vehicle and the house the driver jumped out the passenger side only to be met by police.
The 22-year-old man was charged with dangerous driving, flight from police and two breaches of an undertaking.
The house was not damaged and there was minor damage to the vehicles involved. There were no injuries.
