A traffic complaint from a concerned citizen led to impaired driving charges against one person in Quinte West.
Around 3:30 Monday afternoon, Quinte West OPP received a report about a pickup truck driving at inconsistent speeds and crossing over into the other lane on Telephone Road, between County Road 40 and Stockdale Road.
Officers located and stopped the vehicle, and after observing signs of impairment, arrested the driver.
Twenty-seven-year-old Nicholas Morton of Quinte West was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court February 25.
Further, his licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
OPP remind people that if they suspect that someone is driving or about to drive impaired, call 911 and report it.
