Ontario mayors had an opportunity to talk to the man in charge of the vaccine rollout in the province.
Retired General Rick Hillier discussed COVID-19 and the vaccine rollout with municipal leaders Tuesday morning.
Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison says they want the province to know the municipality will be ready with facilities.
“We have suggested the arenas, we have suggested the Y(MCA). Whatever they feel would work the best. If we got it, the Batawa Community Centre, whatever. If we got it, it is available to them.”
He adds a decision should be known in the next week, but as soon as a vaccine is ready, Quinte West will be ready to go.
Currently the Lawrence Cuculuzzi ice pad and parking lot in Centennial Park is being used as a COVID-19 testing site.
