Restaurants, bars, and other non-essential businesses in most of the Hastings Prince Edward region should be back open by Wednesday.
According to the Canadian Press, quoting an anonymous senior government source, Premier Doug Ford will announce a phased reopening of Ontario Monday.
While the stay-at-home order will remain in effect, businesses will be allowed to open with restrictions in four health unit regions with very low COVID-19 transmission rates on Wednesday.
Included in the four are Hastings Prince Edward and Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox and Addington health unit regions. Northumberland County and the Peterborough area could reopen the following week.
Toronto, and Peel and York regions would reopen on February 22.
It’s expected the four health unit regions reopening Wednesday will be placed in the province’s Green-Prevent COVID-19 response zone.
