The Belleville Police Service responded to 49 calls for service from 5 a.m. on Friday January 29, 2021 to 5 a.m. on Saturday January 30, 2021.
Among those calls, Friday around 2:40 p.m., police were called to a University Avenue address to a report of a stolen trailer during the night.
Further investigation revealed the trailer had actually been taken on January 22, 2021. It was located by its GPS tracking system, first to a location in Mississauga, Ont., and then later in Guelph, Ont. The investigation is continuing as city police continue to work with the Guelph Police Service on the recovery of this property.
