Dave Mills, President of the Hall of Fame, stated that “we appreciate the support of the public and local sports organizations in continuing to identify individuals – athletes and builders – and teams that are worthy of consideration for membership in the Hall of Fame. We also encourage nominators to provide as much detail as possible regarding the individual or team they are nominating, as the Selection Committee does not do additional research beyond the information that is submitted. We are receiving a considerable number of nominations, and those that include detailed history, media articles, career statistics etc, are the ones that really stand out.”
To be eligible for consideration athletes must be either 5 years removed from competing or have reached the age of 40. There is no age requirement for Builders. In addition, nominees must have lived in Belleville or the surrounding area for a minimum of 5 years.
