The City of Belleville has officially made another instalment in its $1 million donation to Hospice Quinte’s new facility build.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk handed over a cheque for $225,000 today to Hospice Quinte Executive Director Jennifer May Anderson.
The Belleville commitment was made alongside a matching donation from Quinte West and a $1.2 million up front donation from the province, which also promised some annual cash towards operating costs as well.
In total, Belleville has now donated $325,000 to Hospice Quinte’s campaign, which is trying to raise $9.5 million, to build the six-bed hospice in Bayside.
