A house fire at the border of Quinte West and Brighton is under control.
Firefighters from both Brighton and Quinte West responded at 4:00 am Wednesday after reports of a garage fire at 691 Bigford Road.
The flames from the garage had spread to the house.
All the residents of the raised bungalow escaped safely.
Initially flames were fuelled by propane appliances on scene but those have since burned out.
Brighton fire crews have been released from the scene.
One dog perished in the blaze.
Damage estimated at $450,000.
One possible cause is a heat lamp in the garage
