Belleville’s Transit Advisory Committee is cancelling two special events transit services.
The Committee agreed with a report from the Transportaion and Operations Service Department calling for an end to the Park and Ride Game Day Shuttle which ran on Belleville Senators game days.
The report also suggested the Belleville Summer Trolley be suspended for the 2021 summer season but said the service could be redeveloped and redesigned for a return in 2022.
Committee chair Councillor Bill Sandison told Quinte News that the services were costing much more than originally proposed.
The Game Day Park and Ride service was not being used as much as anticipated.
He said one of the reasons transit staff recommended suspending the Summer Trolley was that it may be harder to obtain sponsorship funds following the pandemic.
