Quinte West is bringing back its Community Heroes program to recognize those who go above and beyond in these trying times.
The program became a hit after it was started during the first COVID-19 lockdown last spring as a way to feature good news stories about people doing great things in the community.
Community Engagement Officer Hannah Brown says Quinte West has decided to make it a year-round feature with another winner every month.
“It’s a hard time for everyone and good news feels even better right now and it’s really nice to recognize these people who do so much for others and the community at large. And then, when we recognize them we get them prize packs and that gives us an opportunity to recognize the other big heroes in the community which are small businesses.”
Each month’s Community Hero will also be profiled on social media.
Nominations can be made online with the first winner to be recognized over the next few weeks.
