NOTICE: Residents asked to limit trips to landfills during state of emergency
Prince Edward County residents are asked to limit their trips to landfills and transfer sites during the provincewide state of emergency and stay-at-home order. Avoiding unnecessary trips will help reduce crowding and contact with people outside your household.
Landfills and transfer stations will remain open throughout the emergency. Details of hours of operation and services are listed on The County’s website.
Individuals who must visit the landfills and transfer stations during the emergency are asked to:
Wear a face covering upon entry to the landfill/transfer station, even while in their vehicles.
Bring small bills and coins for payments. Exact change is appreciated, and no bills over $20 will be accepted.
Residents are encouraged to use curbside garbage collection as much as possible. Garbage bag tags are required, and can be purchased at several locations throughout The County.
The municipality reminds residents to call ahead to check if the store has bag tags in stock and if curbside pickup is available. For retailers that require additional bag tags to sell, please call 613.476.2148 extension 1023 to arrange for pickup.
The state of emergency is in effect until at least February 11, 2021.
