Quinte area municipalities have learned their share of Ontario’s $375 million Gas Tax Program revenue from 2020.
The funding amounts are determined by the amount of gas sold in the province over the previous year and split between 109 municipalities, to support public transit services including extending hours of service, buying new vehicles, adding routes or upgrading infrastructure.
The local allocations are as follows:
Belleville – $835,335
Quinte West/Brighton – $541,241
Prince Edward County – $89,624
Marmora and Lake (Centre Hastings, Madoc, Stirling-Rawdon, Tweed) – $87,851
Deseronto – $148,417
Bancroft – $78,816
Cramahe Township – $52,274
