A call is going out for volunteers in Prince Edward County to help out members of the community who are not able, or not comfortable, going to the grocery store or pharmacy during the pandemic.
Requests to The County’s COVID-19 Help Line have increased steadily since the Ontario-wide lockdown and PEC staff are hoping there might be some residents who are able to lend a helping hand.
Interested volunteers would just have to give their contact info and the area of The County that they’re able to serve.
The County’s COVID-19 Help Line runs Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and offers information on:
- Volunteer delivery of food and other essentials
- Information on the County Food Depot’s food box program
- Critical community services
- Transportation options
- Sources of accurate and reliable public health information about the COVID-19 virus.
If you’re able to, and interested in volunteering, or you need access to the help line’s services, you can call either 613-476-2148 ext. 1200, or 1-833-676-2148 ext. 1200, or email info@pecounty.on.ca.
