A 58-year-old Quinte West man has been charged with spousal assault and more after a domestic incident in Quinte West Saturday.
OPP officers were at a residence on Highway 2 at approximately 12:30 p.m. Saturday for reports of a domestic disturbance.
After an altercation with officers where the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to hospital by Hastings Quinte paramedics, the man was charged with spousal assault, resisting a peace officer and theft under $5,000.
The man is slated to appear in an Ontario court of justice in February.
The SIU has invoked its mandate as a result of the altercation that led to the man getting injured.
