An unfortunate mishap resulted in serious damage to a Dufferin Avenue residence Saturday evening.
Belleville police were called to the residence at approximately 4:40 p.m. for reports of a car that drove through a garage into the backyard.
An 81-year-old-man was taken to Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries after police say he mistakenly put the vehicle in drive instead of reverse and ended up driving the car through the house into a shed in the back yard.
No charges were laid in the incident.
