A 44-year-old Quinte West resident has an upcoming court date after a motorist was charged with driving more than 70 km/hr over the speed limit on Highway 401.
Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop near County Road 40 just before 10:30 Wednesday night when a vehicle was clocked traveling 171 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone.
The motorist was charged with race motor vehicle – excessive speed, and had their driver’s licence suspended and their vehicle impounded for seven days.
The accused has a scheduled court appearance on March 1.
