Belleville’s Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre is giving it “another try” during COVID-19 lockdowns.
The centre is in lockdown as it has been a number of times since the COVID-19 pandemic began last spring.
Late last fall some openings of programs did occur but were then hit by the lockdown again just after Christmas.
Recreation program supervisor Tanya Grierson tells Quinte News that every effort is being made to offer some programming.
“We just keep rotating and pivoting and changing it up is how we’re doing it.”
This time, only by Zoom or on the telephone.
“They will be able to sign up for their class and log into their computer. They’ll be emailed their password and the log-in, and they’ll log in and they’ll be able to participate with their instructor in the comfort of their own home.”
The Winter Session A will feature fitness programs on Zoom and a phone program for older adults involving such things as crossword puzzles.
Registration begins January 11, with programming beginning the following week.
For more, you can go to the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre website.
The full interview with Tanya Grierson can be heard on Newsmaker Sunday, with host Mary Thomas, this Sunday at the noon hour on 800 CJBQ.
