“There’s lots of wineries, there’s lots of breweries. We would want to bring more of a classic restaurant if we did it ourselves, a newer style restaurant from the city, like a Cibo or an event space.”
For the commercial first floor, they may look at something similar to what they operate in Toronto and Miami.
“We are not interested in competing with a local community business. We are looking at doing something different and expanding the local community business. As Belleville becomes a hub, people will want a beautiful restaurant to have a dinner in, or a beautiful event space to have a dinner in.”
He applauds the municipality for the money and work invested in the downtown and adds the structure, which currently has 30 foot ceilings, may be a combination of commercial and residential.
