On this, the last day of 2020, it is time to start looking ahead to the new year, and the priorities and challenges that go along with it.
Tyendinaga Township Reeve Rick Phillips says a 2020 project that got sidelined due to the pandemic was the roundabout for Deseronto and Belleville Roads.
He says infrastructure work is always something that has to be front and centre.
“We have our regular programs for surfacing of 16, 17, 18 kilometres of road. We do that every nine to ten years, we go through the entire township. We do additions to that of course.”
Phillips added it will not just be road work.
“We are going to be working with all levels of government and health care partners to protect and educate our residents regarding COVID. We are trying to educate people on what they can do to protect themselves and to protect others.”
