A man from the Smiths Falls region is facing numerous charges following a short chase near Madoc.
Early Tuesday, the Central Hastings OPP responded to a report that a drunk and injured man had left a home in a vehicle.
Officers observed the suspect on Highway 7 at a high rate of speed.
After initially refusing to stop, the driver eventually pulled over.
Twenty-two-year old Steven Kingsley was charged with dangerous operation, flight from police, assaulting an officer with a weapon, possession, stunt driving, and impaired.
The accused is in court in February.
