Lennox and Addington OPP laid charges against two people after separate traffic stops on or near Highway 401 on Christmas Eve.
Officers stopped a speeding car in the westbound lanes near Shannonville around 7:00 p.m. and say the driver wasn’t cooperating and refused to provide a breath sample.
The driver, a 33-year-old woman from the Hamilton area, was charged with impaired driving, refusing to comply with a demand and stunt driving.
Her vehicle was impounded and licence suspended for 90 days and she has a court date in late January.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, a 35-year-old man from Napanee was charged with impaired driving after being stopped at a RIDE check on County Road 5, at the Palace Road off-ramp.
Then, this past Sunday morning, a 38-year-old from Ottawa was arrested after police stopped a speeding car on westbound Highway 401.
Lennox and Addington OPP officers pulled the car over around 10:45 a.m., near Marysville, and say the driver seemed to be impaired but refused to provide a breath sample.
A further search of the car led to charges of speeding, impaired driving, refusing to comply with a demand, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and driving with both cannabis and alcohol readily available.
The driver had their licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle has been impounded for a week, with a future court date pending.
