A house was heavily damaged by fire yesterday (Tuesday) in Centre Hastings.
The Centre Hastings Fire Department were called out to 1713 Hollowview Road east of Ivanhoe around 5:15 yesterday afternoon.
The residents escaped safely.
The fire was declared under control at 8:30.
Fire Chief Bob Branscombe says most of the fire damage was done in the basement of the home but the rest of the house suffered serious smoke damage.
The damage is estimated at $200,000 and the cause is under investigation.
