While the entire province of Ontario remains in the “grey” or lockdown zone until later in January, the recent numbers in Hastings and Prince Edward counties look quite good.
After yesterday’s (Sunday) report of five new COVID-19 cases in the two counties, the case rate per 100,000 population sits at 8.3. In comparison, the case rate per 100,000 in Durham Region is 87.
The local case positivity rate is at .4%.
By those measures the region should be in the “green” or prevent zone. Out of Ontario’s five zones, that is the zone with the fewest pandemic related restrictions.
