The Chief of Staff for Quinte Health Care calls 2020 a “remarkable year”.
Dr. Colin MacPherson says the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic caused everyone in QHC’s four hospitals to have to rethink just about everything about their jobs.
Physical distancing protocols and cleaning and disinfection protocols were just some things that had to be considered and changed very quickly.
Dr. MacPherson says that by and large everyone at QHC stepped up and met the challenge.
“We implemented changes and maintained what I think has been a remarkable attitude of collegiality, cooperation and professionalism. It was extremely heartwarming.”
Dr. MacPherson said the organization’s and community’s response to the first wave of the pandemic was outstanding but concerns remain about increasing infection numbers so far in the second wave.
