Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has announced two new cases of COVID-19 in the two counties leaving the active total at at 20.
There were also seven new recoveries in the area. Currently there are two people in hospital with the virus and one active outbreak. As the province prepares to head into lockdown on Boxing Day, the seven day rolling average for cases per 100,000 people in Hastings Prince Edward sits at 14.8.
There are six active cases in Belleville, six in Quinte West, five in Prince Edward County, two in Tyendinaga and Deseronto and one in Central Hastings.
In Northumberland County, the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit is reporting one new case of COVID-19 for a total of 35 active cases.
There have been 10 new recoveries reported there as well.
