A Picton man who was found guilty of manslaughter and trafficking opioids, in connection with an overdose death in 2019, has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Thomas Fox, who was 33 at the time, was arrested in July of last year after 34-year-old Travis Rosseau died of an overdose in Hallowell Ward, on March 11, 2019.
Fox was found to have sold the lethal drugs to Rosseau and was convicted of the charges this past September before being sentenced on Wednesday.
While his overall sentence was five years, he was given credit for just over 32 months of time served already in custody and will spend 27 and a half months, or just over two more years in prison.
Fox was also placed on a lifetime weapons ban and must provide a DNA sample.
