The Government of Ontario has announced that the Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington region will be moving into the orange restrict level of the province’s COVID-19 response plan.
The move will begin on Monday, Dec. 21 at 12:01 a.m.
A rise in COVID-19 cases over the past two weeks in the region means that they meet the restrictions for an orange level restriction plan.
The vast majority of cases have been in and around Kingston with very few in rural and the Napanee areas.
Included in the region is Joyceville Institution which has seen 83 confirmed active cases of the virus reported in recent days.
The KFL&A regions will remain in the orange zone for at least 28 days. KFL&A Public Health remind everyone to social distance and follow public health guidelines over the holiday season.
