Local lawyer John Bonn will become Mr. Justice John Bonn as of the end of the year.
Friday, Attorney General Doug Downey announced five new justices to the Ontario Court of Justice, effective December 31.
Bonn has practised criminal, personal injury, and civil law and last year was appointed a Deputy Judge of the Superior Court of Justice.
He was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2001 and the Ontario Bar in 2004. Most recently, he has worked with his family’s law firm Bonn Law.
He is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers’ Association and the Hastings County Law Association and has volunteered with the Ontario Justice Education Network in Belleville.
After becoming a Justice, Bonn will serve in Belleville.
