Northumberland County council has passed its budget for next year, one that shows just a small increase in taxes.
The budget totals $188.3 million with the levy increase being just 1.6% which translates to another $18 a year, or $1.50 a month, on an average home’s county taxes.
The budget contains initiatives to support economic recovery and work will continue on such major capital projects as the new bridge in Campbellford, a new Golden Plough Lodge, Archives and Museum, and work at a rail crossing in Brighton.
