Another local school is reporting a positive COVID-19 test.
The Hastings Prince Edward School Board’s COVID-19 page shows a student at Trent River Public School has tested positive.
A letter sent to some parents, which was obtained by Quinte News, says the situation is classified as “low risk” and the health unit is working with the school and school board to take the necessary steps to prevent further spread.
The positive case is the fifth in a local school in the last week, with a student testing positive at CML Snider School in Wellington last Thursday, a staff member testing positive at Kente Public School in Ameliasburgh this past Sunday and two students at Trenton High School testing positive on Tuesday.
All of the schools remain open at this time and areas where infected students may have been are being thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
