The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board is confirming a pair of positive COVID-19 tests at area schools in the past few days.
According to the HPEDSB Return To School Website, a staff member at Kente Public School in Ameliasburgh tested positive on Sunday and a student at Trenton High School was confirmed to have tested positive today (Tuesday).
Those bring the number of positive tests within the local public school board to four, including a student at Stirling Public School who tested positive in late November and another student CML Snider School in Wellington who tested positive last week.
None of those schools is currently closed and the board is working with HPE Public Health to identify any close contacts.
Notice: A Trenton High student has tested positive for COVID-19. High-risk contacts have been identified and will be contacted directly by Public Health. The school remains open. All families have been notified by phone and low-risk contacts will receive the letter below. pic.twitter.com/eD8m10sqNm
