Tyendinaga Township held a food drive this past Saturday, and Reeve Rick Phillips says the support was amazing.
Members of Council, the fire department, and municipal staff came out to help.
Phillips says hundreds of donations were received, along with close to $6,000.
Some of the donations will go to support Three Oaks Foundation, with some of money being divided between the three elementary schools in the municipality, for their Food For Learning Programs.
The remainder of the donations will be going to local food banks.
