The 100-year-old holiday appeal for children in the Greater Napanee area is wrapping up its campaign during COVID-19.
The Tree of Hope campaign, which officially wraps up next week, is on track to help more than 700 Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington children with gift cards, winter clothing and special items.
It is the annual holiday campaign of the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Children’s Services.
For the first time over the years, because of the pandemic, the Tree of Hope could not collect toys but switched to gift cards for the increased number of families due to the pandemic.
In a statement the Children’s Services says, “For those who have already made a donation, thank you. For those who haven’t, we still need your help. Can your family help one of the families served by the Tree of Hope? Now’s the time to donate. And if you can’t donate before the 16th don’t worry. You can keep giving to the Tree of Hope until the end of January (those wanting a tax receipt for 2020 need to donate before December 31).”
The Family and Children’s Services Tree of Hope Touchdown, unveiling the amount of money raised, will run live on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube, at 11 a.m. on December 16.
